On the third day of being forced to work, honestly, today is not that tiring. Compared to the previous two days, the rest time has been a bit longer, but the places I ran to have clearly increased, the farthest being Cyberport. At the invitation of @zchrhrhr, I discussed some topics related to RWA and stablecoins with several teachers. I won't say much about stablecoins; I have always believed that simply tokenizing US stocks is a false demand. Of course, I am referring to "spot" rather than derivatives.
Firstly, there are currently very few fully compliant US stocks on-chain. Even if there are some, most of my friends cannot access them. Furthermore, it is precisely because they are non-compliant that what everyone can access is basically not deliverable like the underlying stocks. Once it becomes non-deliverable, it is essentially not "stocks" but just a parameter tracking stock prices. Also, because they cannot be delivered, the opportunities for arbitrage with underlying stocks are very low.
Moreover, whether it is US stocks or prediction markets, the biggest problem is anchoring users to cryptocurrency users. Derivatives are fine since many friends like highly leveraged contracts, but "spot" does not attract much interest from investors who prefer to see their investments grow by hundreds or thousands of times. Of course, if US stock dividends are used as a way of earning on-chain interest, it does have potential for development, as it can at least compensate for the shortcoming in DeFi of not knowing where the benefits come from.
After leaving Cyberport, I ran to a few other places and then went to a dinner hosted by @Bitget_zh. With the experience of the previous two days, I had predicted that many people would attend, and indeed there were a lot of people. Thanks to @LeslieLi92210 and @xiejiayinBitget for their hospitality. Especially Leslie, who looked cute but was very strong in business ability. Her aura transformed directly from an anime character to that of a queen; I admire her. It's a pity that I really couldn't stand still, so I left early.
After two consecutive days of feasting, my stomach couldn’t take it anymore. Mr. Li took us to eat at a Dai Pai Dong, and I must say that I found the food at the Dai Pai Dong to be much more delicious than what we had on the previous two days. Thanks to Teacher Ma and Kitty for picking up the bill. Originally, it was just the four of us, but as we ate, the table expanded to a large group! 🤣
Tomorrow is the last day of being forced to work, and I won't be working on the 23rd. I'm going home; it’s been a long time since I've thought about home like this. Tomorrow, I should be near the venue, looking forward to running into friends.
