PANews April 18 news, according to The Block report, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that a crypto company linked to Russian gangs and intelligence agencies had provided financial support to his political opponents and influenced the domestic crypto regulatory process. Donald Tusk said during a parliamentary vote that the company is named Zondacrypto, and mentioned that some Polish politicians are obstructing crypto regulatory legislation in connection with the interests of the company. He also claimed that the company's funding sources are related to the Russian "Bratva" gang organization and intelligence agencies.
Donald Tusk further pointed out that Zondacrypto sponsored the CPAC event held in Poland, where former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem publicly supported presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki. Nawrocki is not opposed to crypto regulation itself but disagrees with the "flawed regulatory model" proposed by the government. Previously, the Polish parliament failed to overturn the president's veto on the crypto bill, hindering the government's plans to align with the EU MiCA framework.
