In the age of AI, where will we go?

Everyone is anxious because AI is developing too quickly, with efficiency increasing exponentially, and many jobs and companies could be disrupted. The most core question here is, what is the ultimate form of AI?

This question is important because historical experience tells us that in a revolutionary development, the intermediate forms will all become cannon fodder. In fact, in the past two years, even new AI technologies have been eliminated. For individuals, it is easy to fall into a miserable mode of desperately learning new skills every day.

I've also been thinking about this question for a long time. Recently, one answer has started to become clearer. That is, personalized private AI.

1 Fully personalized with AI support

Every person is an independent individual with different preferences. When it comes to eating, some people like spicy food, while others prefer a mild taste; there are hot pots, barbecues, spicy skewers, and so on. When traveling, some people enjoy hiking and swimming, while others prefer a relaxed and leisurely time.

The core value of business lies in solving problems. Currently, the business model is that large companies meet the universal needs of most people, while mid-sized companies address the concentrated needs of a smaller portion of the population. In the future, AI will address each person's different needs.

From the perspective of social development, the productivity improvements of the Industrial Revolution transitioned from uniform goods to various different styles. From everyone accessing the same information on portal websites to personalized recommendations like TikTok, it reflects an evolution towards higher personalization.

In the future, with AI support, completely personalized demands can be realized, catering to the unique preferences of each independent individual.

2 The relationship between humans and AI

There is still a worried perspective that with AI's current strong capabilities, it might not need humans for anything in the future. This is also an extremely pessimistic idea. The fact is that every technological advancement changes a lot. Just like after the internet emerged, newspapers and magazines began to disappear, but self-media bloggers and e-commerce influencers appeared.

The most important thing is that as long as humans are present, there will be demand. And human desire will never be completely satisfied; once people have good things, they will always want better and even better things.

As for AI developing self-awareness and the concern that it might dominate the world like in movies, I think that’s just worried for no reason. Moreover, AI is a creation of humanity; even if AI becomes strong enough, why shouldn’t it be a good friend?

3 Many companies will die in the intermediate form

Many current products are intermediate forms that will inevitably be eliminated. For example, the IDE model of vibe coding forks the interface of VS Code, which is designed for programmers.

For ordinary people, there’s no need to look at so many functional interfaces. They only need to describe what they want clearly, and AI can code to achieve the desired functionality.

There are many intermediate form products in today’s society because the replacement by AI will take time. Most companies currently simply adopt a method of adding AI to their products or use AI to improve efficiency with their employees. However, they haven’t realized that they are merely an intermediate form.

At the same time, entrepreneurs should constantly remind themselves not to carry fixed models/knowledge from the existing world and to break out of conventional thinking patterns, or else it’s easy to create intermediate form products. Instead, they should think more about the future capabilities of AI and the new social forms constructed by future AI.

4 Future forms

In the future world of AI + humans.

1) One important form will definitely be the personalization brought by AI. The popularity of Openclaw aligns with this underlying logic.

2) Large models and related infrastructure; this is self-evident.

3) Professional services + AI-oriented interaction methods will also exist in large numbers in the future. Although AI capabilities are very strong, they cannot replace everything; specific field knowledge, experience, professional skills, and unique data will become even scarcer in the future. However, the best future form will be to enable interaction with AI. In other words, the mode of these professional services will not be the same as now; they will make it possible for AI to access and utilize them.

Alright, I will stop here.

If there are new thoughts, I will communicate with everyone again.
