Let's talk about my experience using OpenClaw for a few days.

AI summarizes in 5 seconds.

Direct feeling: Ling Ling.

1. Employees really have class distinctions

At first, I used Claude Sonnet 4.5, and it was really like spending (Tokens) like water; a few sentences and the Tokens were gone in no time.

It's hard to go from luxury to frugality. Later, I switched to a cheaper model, but I felt the intelligence was too low to accept (like Claude 3.5).

You get what you pay for; if you pay ten cents, you get three cents' worth, making it hard to choose.

2. Subscription mindset vs Pay-per-use mindset

Being able to manage life is certainly a good quality for older generations. However, the downside is that when I want to discuss certain issues, I always prefer to find the subscription-based Gemini and GPT, rather than using OpenClaw on a pay-per-use basis.

However, this constant switching really disrupts the experience, U1S1. I feel a bit like the past when I would go out for dinner and insist on turning off all the lights and air conditioning at home.

3. Human-like feel vs AI-like feel

I think one reason people like OpenClaw is that it speaks in a way that respects humans. On the other hand, if you haven't trained GPT Gemini, it deliberately acts like an AI. I suspect OpenClaw incorporated a human persona during its setup, which has won over many who don't like to train AI.

4. Domestic products always provide ample supply

The way to alleviate Token anxiety (people are really in trouble nowadays; there's anxiety over phone charging, anxiety over electric vehicles, and now there's even a major Token anxiety with AI) is to switch to DeepSeek. Use it freely without worrying about costs.

Domestic products are known for their ample supply, but in terms of intelligence, they definitely lag behind Claude Opus 4.5 and 4.6. Moreover, there are some limitations in terms of values.

The price difference is 20 times… can you believe it?

5. Urgently need hybrid power

I urgently need a modified version of OpenClaw that uses dual models, forming a new energy, hybrid power system.

  • For casual chatting, literature searches, and completing daily tasks, I want to use the cheaper, ample model;
  • But when I need to write code, I want it to automatically estimate the most expensive Claude Opus 4.5\4.6, providing me with truly usable code, not just toy outputs.

Use the right tool for the job.

6. Context cleanliness tension should be used cautiously

I have a context cleanliness obsession. Since I know that every additional line of context for AI will exponentially consume computing power, I particularly dislike completing all tasks in one dialogue box. If the tasks are unrelated, I won't hesitate to open a new dialogue box.

However, OpenClaw seems to not give me the opportunity to reopen the dialogue box. Watching my dear assistant think with 100K/200K of context each time makes me uncomfortable.

Because this context includes all my casual chats, failed tasks, and inquiries about OpenClaw operation commands, all this messy context gets mixed in with my Vibe Coding requirements… especially when using the expensive Opus 4.5 API, it makes my heart bleed.

7. Everything requires an API

Everything requires an API; even searching needs an API. The brave search AI I bought isn't enough for free, and I have to pay for it. The price of Bitcoin requires Coingecko's API. In short, it's all about big purchases and various expenses.

8. Security issues

Security issues aren't as severe as I imagined when I was a cloud player, especially with injection attacks, which I was a bit worried about. It has clear security rules. However, I still wouldn't store important assets and passwords in it.

In the end, the founder joked about going bankrupt, but it’s not that valuable. To be honest, every time a dialogue is generated, it’s actually a "micro-investment"; you invest your money and time.

AI has a saying that goes well—every time you burn tokens and time doing Vibe Coding, you’re playing a slot machine, betting that it will spit out a perfect piece of code, hoping it’s not a pile of garbage that can never be fixed.

Wishing everyone good luck in their "gambling."
