According to Bloomberg, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the U.S. by trading volume, Coinbase, is just days away from announcing its advancements in prediction markets and tokenized stocks.

According to a report by Bloomberg on Thursday, citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter, Coinbase plans to announce the launch of prediction markets and tokenized stocks next week.

The report states that the exchange will hold a live demonstration of the new products on Wednesday, but it has not disclosed whether prediction markets and tokenized stocks will be included.

According to technology researcher Jane Manchun Wong's report from nearly a month ago, Coinbase is preparing landing pages for tokenized stocks and prediction markets powered by Kalshi. However, the company has not officially released these products.

Bloomberg reported that on the same day, Coinbase became a member of the Coalition for Prediction Markets (CPM), an organization of prediction market operators announced by Kalshi and Crypto.com.

Coinbase's Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shizad stated, "At Coinbase, our mission is to bring financial freedom to the world—and prediction markets inherently democratize the process of fact-checking and truth-seeking."

He also emphasized that CPM hopes to engage with policymakers to ensure that the American public can continue to access these markets.

Kalshi, founded in 2018 by MIT graduates Tarek Mansour and Luana Lopes Lara, allows users to trade the outcomes of real-world events just like financial assets.

According to data from Dunedata on Dune Analytics, the platform has become a significant player in the prediction market space, with a weekly trading volume of about $1 billion, competing alongside rivals like Polymarket and Opinion.

Coinbase's push into prediction markets comes at a time of prosperity for the sector, with last week's weekly trading volume nearing a record $4 billion, although some experts have questioned the accuracy of the reported data.

Rival exchanges are also racing to launch prediction markets, with Crypto.com announcing a dedicated platform in October, planned to integrate with Trump Media.

On Wednesday, the exchange Gemini, founded by the Winklevoss twins, received approval from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission to offer prediction market services in the U.S.
