Co-founder of Strategy, Michael Saylor, predicts that Bitcoin will reach $150,000 by the end of 2025. Strategy is the largest Bitcoin (BTC) treasury company by holdings.
"I think the next 12 months could be the best 12 months in the history of the industry," Saylor told CNBC on Monday at the Money 20/20 conference in Las Vegas.
Saylor mentioned the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) embracing tokenized securities, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent supporting stablecoins to protect the dollar's dominance, and the overall shift in U.S. regulation as reasons to remain bullish. He stated:
This prediction comes amid a downturn in crypto asset prices, following U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of a 100% additional tariff on China, which triggered a market crash and raised investor concerns about macroeconomic instability.
Analysts from The Kobeissi Letter noted that the historic market crash in October was caused by short-term technical factors, while the long-term market trend for rising cryptocurrency prices remains intact, adding that they believe a trade agreement will be reached between the U.S. and China.
In the following weeks, officials from both countries softened their rhetoric, indicating a de-escalation of trade tensions and a willingness to negotiate an agreement.
Trump shifted course, confirming he would meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Seoul on Friday.
Bessent stated on Sunday that the U.S. and China have reached a "substantial" framework for a trade agreement, a declaration welcomed by analysts, investors, and executives in the crypto industry.
"If a U.S.-China trade agreement is announced and the Federal Reserve cuts interest rates, asset prices will go crazy this week. Buckle up," said investor and analyst Anthony Pompliano.
