Space and Time Integrates Stablecoin Payments to Boost Developer Efficiency

The Space and Time Foundation has announced that its network will now support the stablecoin USDC as a payment method. This integration allows smart contract developers to pay for zero-knowledge (ZK) coprocessing workloads using the stablecoin. This new capability is aimed at streamlining the developer experience and unlocking new possibilities for building advanced onchain applications.

Backed by investors like Microsoft’s M12 and Circle Ventures, Space and Time’s system which powered by proof of SQL, is said to be the industry’s first sub-second ZK coprocessor. It can prove SQL database queries over millions of data rows, allowing smart contracts to use real-time, verifiable data from both onchain and off-chain sources.

Scott Dykstra, co-founder of Space and Time, called the integration an important milestone for the ecosystem.

“We’re focused on empowering developers to build secure, expressive applications onchain with the industry’s first sub-second ZK coprocessor, and the integration of USDC unlocks a smoother, more efficient way to power smart contracts and onchain apps at scale,” he said.

Brian Schultz, Vice President of Corporate Development and Circle Ventures at Circle, also expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. He said Circle Ventures‘ goal is supporting teams building what he called foundational technologies that not only make digital assets more usable but “programmable and trusted across the Web3 ecosystem.”

According to press release, developers can now build more expressive onchain applications that integrate verifiable data from multiple sources and feed the ZK-proven results directly into smart contracts. This technology opens doors for data-driven decentralized finance (DeFi), onchain gaming, and other sophisticated applications.

With the new USDC integration, developers can more easily leverage Space and Time’s ZK coprocessor using a widely adopted digital currency. All USDC payments on the network are automatically converted into SXT, the network’s native token, for use within the protocol.

This USDC integration follows the recent mainnet launch of Space and Time and is part of the company’s broader effort to simplify workflows for developers while expanding access to high-performance, verifiable computing.
