Many friends may have seen discussions about using AI to generate content for social media. Previously, this was mostly observed in the Web2 space, but now Instagram has collaborated with Cygnus, a Web3 AI project. After careful consideration, I believe there are two possible directions:
- In the past, monetization for creators on Instagram primarily relied on advertising and brand partnerships, which had a high barrier to entry. For most content creators, it was very challenging to earn revenue from their content. The use of Cygnus in the Web3 space essentially provides a new model of "content as revenue."
Ordinary users who can use AI tools can efficiently produce content and receive rewards through a token incentive system. For Instagram, this can significantly enhance creator engagement and retention.
- Instagram is fundamentally a content platform that requires a large amount of content to fill it. However, user-generated content can easily hit the ceiling of imagination, leading to severe homogenization.
The AI content creation brought by Cygnus can enrich the platform's content supply. In simple terms, Cygnus's AI capabilities can help Instagram fill content gaps and attract user traffic.
Of course, I also believe that future content platforms may see an increasing amount of AI-generated content. This will not only test creativity but also provide opportunities to earn rewards through Web3 methods.
