According to cryptocurrency analyst Egrag Crypto, the XRP/USD trading pair may be preparing for a major upward breakout this summer.
"XRP's breakout is imminent," the analyst stated in a post on X platform on Tuesday, adding that its price action has formed a large symmetrical triangle on the monthly timeframe, indicating a significant breakout in the coming months.
Egrag Crypto explained that such patterns are typically resolved within 75% to 95% of the total duration of the pattern.
In the current situation, XRP has been consolidating within the symmetrical triangle for 334 days. Using historical behavior as a guide, Egrag calculated two possible breakout timeframes: 75% of 334 days is 251 days, pointing to early July 2025; while 95% of 334 days is 317 days, suggesting mid-September 2025. "This indicates that a breakout could occur anytime between early July and mid-September 2025, so investors should stay alert!"
Egrag Crypto's chart also includes key Fibonacci extension levels centered around the symmetrical triangle, setting an XRP price target of $8 to $27.
An increasing number of analysts state that, due to bears failing to create new lows, XRP's next move is likely to be upward.
Cryptocurrency YouTuber DustyBC Crypto stated, "XRP prices below $2 are extremely cheap. Save this article and revisit it in six months," implying that the token may trade at significantly higher levels in the next six months.
Mikybull Crypto noted that XRP may soon break through the symmetrical triangle structure, potentially replicating the surge seen in 2017, with a target price of $14.
XRP's upward potential is part of a warming trend, with the coin's price rebounding 15% from a local low of $1.91 to a high of $2.21 on Tuesday.
XRP bulls are focused on breaking through the resistance range between $2.22 (100-day simple moving average (SMA)) and $2.40 (200-day simple moving average).
If the closing price stabilizes above this level, it will pave the way for a return to $3.00 or above the seven-year high of $3.40.
As Cointelegraph previously reported, a clear breakout above $2.22 (100-day simple moving average) would invalidate the bearish structure threatening XRP's price to drop to $1.18.
Notable XRP analyst CasiTrades pointed out that while "market momentum has returned," the price must break through two major resistance levels: $2.25 (0.382 macro retracement level) and $2.69 (0.236 retracement level). "These are important macro levels, and a strong breakout would confirm that this is not just a local reaction, but a true trend reversal!"
