David Schwartz, chief technology officer at blockchain company Ripple, has shared a humorous theory behind the mysterious post of co-founder Arthur Britto.

According to Schwartz's bizarre theory, Schwartz might have set up a "deadman switch" several years ago to send the private keys to his XRP Ledger accounts to Schwartz if he did not post anything for 15 years on X (formerly Twitter).

Such a system automatically performs an action if the person fails to check in or stop it in time.

Having forgotten how to disable the aforementioned switch, Britto had to make a public social media post to disable it.

Britto, whose lines of code created 100 billion XRPs more than 13 years ago, received 2% of the token's circulating supply, according to a recently leaked agreement.

As reported by U.Today, Britto shocked the XRP community by posting on his social media account for the first time in nearly 14 years since he joined Twitter. His cryptic post, which contains a single emoji, sparked a slew of theories about Brittoi's potential return to the limelight.

The Ripple co-founder is particularly known for being intensely private. There are no available photos of Britto, and he has never given any interviews. That said, Schwartz previously claimed that they remained in touch, and he was recently able to confirm that the cryptic post was not a result of a hacking incident.

Britto's social media post has now attracted nearly four million views, and his account is approaching 60,000 followers.
