Bitcoin (BTC) bull, Strategy founder Michael Saylor, has once again emphasized the long-term value of BTC amid rapidly changing geopolitical and cryptocurrency adoption trends.
Saylor delivered a keynote speech at the BTC Prague 2025 event on June 21, 2025 (Saturday), predicting that the price of Bitcoin (BTC) will reach $21 million in 21 years.
“I believe we will reach $21 million in 21 years. This is a very special moment in the network. Perhaps the only time in the history of the network when you look 21 years ahead and see a price of $21 million,” Saylor stated.
Saylor's latest bullish prediction for Bitcoin marks a significant increase from his forecast last year at the Nashville Bitcoin 2024 conference, where he predicted Bitcoin would reach $13 million by 2045.
In his keynote speech, Saylor explained the reasons behind his increasingly bullish outlook on the Bitcoin market, mentioning many geopolitical, regulatory, and adoption developments that he said were unforeseen last year.
“What has happened in the past 11 months is extraordinary. The White House has accepted Bitcoin. This is an extraordinary development. We did not anticipate this,” Saylor said.
Saylor emphasized that he remained bullish on BTC even when Bitcoin fell to $16,000 during the last cryptocurrency winter, but he noted that Trump's presidential victory last November “brought about a tremendous political change.”
“While we thought there might be a president who supports Bitcoin, we did not expect a strategic Bitcoin reserve to be established. We also did not expect the president to say that the U.S. would become the Bitcoin superpower of the world. This is an amazing development,” Saylor added.
The Strategy founder also mentioned regulatory and legislative developments related to cryptocurrency, highlighting three crypto-related bills being advanced in the U.S., including the Genius Act focused on stablecoins, the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, and the Bitcoin Bill.
“This was unforeseen; no one thought of these a year ago. Some states in the U.S. are embracing Bitcoin,” Saylor stated.
Saylor's new bullish prediction for Bitcoin comes as Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) continues to actively accumulate more BTC, with the company purchasing $1 billion worth of BTC last week.
As of June 15, 2025, Strategy holds 592,100 BTC, but the company has not publicly disclosed the location and method of its BTC assets, with Saylor refusing to provide proof of reserves citing security reasons.
Last year, Saylor faced criticism for rejecting the concept of self-custody. Self-custody refers to holding BTC without relying on any third party, which remains one of the core principles of Bitcoin in the BTC community.
After facing strong opposition from the community for suggesting that Bitcoin holders should entrust their assets to banks, Saylor changed his stance on self-custody in October 2024, stating that he supports those who are “willing and able” to self-custody.
Meanwhile, the concept of self-custody continues to receive attention at the BTC Prague event, with attendees showing increasing interest in the principle of “being your own bank.”
“BTC Prague continues to attract a highly engaged crowd interested in Bitcoin, with most attendees deeply involved in the future of Bitcoin,” Danny Sanders, Chief Business Officer of hardware wallet company Trezor, told Cointelegraph.
As one of the main sponsors of BTC Prague, Trezor hosted over 5,000 visitors at the conference, Sanders said. These visitors included “a vibrant group of developers, Bitcoin enthusiasts, and newcomers—all of whom showed genuine interest in open-source tools and self-custody principles,” he added.
