The value of the AI + Crypto track in my eyes and the role of Virtual

At the end of yesterday's article, there was a comment:

"You always post articles about this project during a bull market, which reminds me of the continuous posts about FIL last time, and not long after, it started to plummet."

As for this round of market conditions, I have never believed that the crypto ecosystem has entered a "bull market." The reason is simple; I have shared multiple times that Ethereum has not broken through its previous high, so where is the "bull market"?

Regarding the Virtual project and the ecosystem it supports, I use the same standard to evaluate it; it is still far from its previous high, so it cannot be considered a bull market either.

As for the continuous posting about this project, it is more accurate to say that I am posting articles about some projects within this ecosystem, as well as various viewpoints and ideas from the Virtual team leading this ecosystem.

These articles only explore their ideas, viewpoints, practices, and effects, and never discuss their upcoming "not long after" prices and trends.

Why do I post these articles?

I have clearly shared in previous articles:

First, because in the current crypto ecosystem, the old subfields have become aesthetically tiresome for me; they have not produced any stunning innovations to date.

What stunning innovations have emerged in DeFi?

What stunning innovations have emerged in NFTs?

What stunning innovations have emerged in blockchain games?

It seems there are none.

Perhaps HyperLiquid, which has risen in DeFi this round, is attractive to many, but it does not pique my interest.

Second, because the newly emerging popular ecosystems seem to have little to do with retail investors like me.

The most typical example is RWA. I have shared the reasons for this many times, so I won't elaborate further.

Third, and this is also a very important reason, as human society has reached today, especially with the emergence of artificial intelligence, I believe the only thing that can rival it is the crypto ecosystem.

Therefore, AI + Crypto is the track I am highly focused on.

Personal time and energy are limited, and since I am optimistic about this track, I must invest the vast majority of my energy into it.

What ecosystems in the AI + Crypto track are worth paying attention to?

Looking across the entire crypto ecosystem, I only find Solana and BASE worth focusing on. However, the development of the AI + Crypto ecosystem within Solana is far behind BASE.

So my focus is solely on BASE.

In the BASE ecosystem, the only well-developed AI + Crypto project is the Virtual project and its supporting ecosystem.

Thus, my focus is only on this project and its ecosystem.

This is my logic, and I think it is not difficult to understand.

As for whether a project will rise or fall shortly after I write about it, that has never been a factor I consider.

If focusing on a project means expecting it to rise shortly after, then that starting point is problematic. Because, in my view, short-term market fluctuations have never been a factor in deciding whether to focus on and participate in a project.

When I first focused on Bitcoin and Ethereum and bought them, they soon encountered a bear market crash. Does that mean it was wrong to focus on them at that time?

Given this, what is the purpose and reason for focusing on a project?

I focus on a project for two reasons:

First, from a long-term perspective, to see if this project has the potential for long-term development in the future;

Second, to discover other opportunities it may generate, to see if its proposed ideas are creative and whether they signify the emergence of new business models.

Specifically regarding the Virtual project, I want to see if it can become a long-term project, and whether its ideas and thoughts can truly elevate the entire AI + Crypto track I am concerned about, while creating genuinely valuable AI Agents in the process.

Finally, this reader mentioned a past lesson: shortly after focusing on FIL, it plummeted.

We suffered losses on that.

But similar events have also occurred with Bitcoin and Ethereum, and they have also happened in DeFi and NFTs. Yet we have gained substantial returns from them.

Such events have not only happened in the past but will continue to occur in the present and future; not only in the crypto ecosystem but also in other technological fields.

Since we face such events in the past, present, and future, with both possible outcomes existing, how should we confront this uncertainty and risk?

Should we shrink back, fearing new things because we were once bitten by a snake, or should we reject all new things?

Or should we learn from the experiences and lessons, turning experience into a sword to carve out new territories, and refining lessons into a solid shield for self-protection, so that even when facing the onslaught of storms, we can boldly move forward without fear of harm?

I would unhesitatingly choose the latter.

I have also shared specific methods many times:

Always have enough living expenses for 18 months;

Use spare money that does not affect daily life to participate;

Bitcoin + Ethereum should account for at least 50% of the total portfolio;

As for the Virtual ecosystem, it is even simpler, and I have shared it multiple times:

If you don’t understand it, don’t buy anything; observe more and act less;

If all the above preparations are in place, then feel free to act boldly according to your own ideas. I believe this is the attitude a pioneering investor should have, and it is also my requirement for myself.
