Staked Ethereum (ETH) has reached a new record, while the asset price has returned to a 12-day high, driven by major institutional accumulation.
According to data from the network browser Beaconcha.in, the amount of Ethereum staked on the Beacon Chain reached an all-time high of 34.65 million ETH on Sunday, surpassing the previous record of November 10, 2024.
Over the past year, the amount of staked Ethereum has remained relatively stable, staying above 33 million. However, since June, this number has started to rise again.
Higher staking levels indicate that more holders are currently unwilling to sell at the current price and are more inclined to earn yields through staking.
The Dune Analytics dashboard confirmed this record data, reporting that as of Monday, 34.8 million ETH had been staked, while Ultrasound.Money reported 34.7 million ETH.
The analysis platform also showed that the current amount staked represents 28.7% of Ethereum's current circulating supply of 120.8 million, since the issuance returned to inflation in February.
The achievement of this milestone comes as the industry anticipates the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to approve a spot Ethereum ETF for staking.
Analysts suggest that a staked Ethereum ETF could debut in the "coming weeks," following ETF provider REX Shares' recent submission of a filing using a "regulatory workaround."
Meanwhile, according to Farside Investors, BlackRock's industry-leading iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) has seen no outflows for 23 consecutive trading days, actively accumulating the asset.
Despite the lackluster performance of Ethereum's asset price, the amount staked has surged by 77% over the past two years, while the price has increased by about 50% during the same period, but it is still far from reaching a new all-time high.
However, ETH's price rose over 8% on Tuesday, breaking back above $2,700, marking the highest price in nearly two weeks since May 29.
In the past month, the $2,700 price range has acted as a resistance level four times, so breaking through this level is necessary to sustain the upward momentum.
