WBTC Delisting Fight Ends: Bit Global Drops Case Against Coinbase

The joint stipulation, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, confirms that the dispute between Bit Global Digital Limited and Coinbase Global Inc. is now closed. The “with prejudice” designation ensures that the claims cannot be refiled, signaling a final resolution between the two cryptocurrency companies.

The filing notes that each party will be responsible for its own legal expenses. Bit Global’s lawsuit, originally filed in early 2025, alleged that Coinbase had engaged in anticompetitive conduct by delisting wrapped bitcoin (WBTC) from its platform. The delisting came shortly after the launch of Coinbase’s own competing token, cbBTC.

According to Bit Global’s now-dismissed lawsuit, the delisting was portrayed as a calculated effort to funnel liquidity toward Coinbase’s in-house token. The filing sparked interest throughout the crypto world. At the time, Coinbase stood by its decision, and its legal team argued the exchange was simply upholding its strict listing standards.

The latest court filing revealed no monetary agreement between the parties, pointing instead to a shared choice to quietly close the case. Judge Araceli Martinez-Olguín oversaw the matter.
