Moonpay USA has received approval for its bitlicense and money transmitter licenses from the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), allowing the company to offer its full range of fiat-to-crypto services to customers in New York. This milestone completes Moonpay’s regulatory coverage across the United States, enabling the company to directly serve clients in all 50 states without any gaps in coverage. With this approval, Moonpay joins a select group of crypto payments providers authorized to conduct virtual currency business in New York. Co-founder and CEO Ivan Soto-Wright expressed pride in achieving this “golden regulatory stack” and emphasized the company’s commitment to making cryptocurrency accessible nationwide. Moonpay also holds money transmission licenses in 46 other U.S. jurisdictions and has expanded its regulatory presence internationally, including registrations in the UK, Australia, and Canada. This announcement follows the unveiling of Moonpay’s new headquarters in New York City and a record-breaking financial performance in 2024.
