Crypto.com Expands US Presence With New DC Office Amid Trump’s Regulatory Shifts

The new office, located near the White House, will focus on public and government affairs for the company’s U.S. operations. Matt David, President of North America at Crypto.com, cited the “maturing regulatory environment” as pivotal to the decision, emphasizing the U.S. as a “central” market for the firm’s growth. Existing staff will initially occupy the office, with additional roles to be filled soon.

The move coincides with recent regulatory shifts under U.S. President Donald Trump, including the launch of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR) to bolster federal cryptocurrency holdings and a pivot away from regulation by enforcement. The administration has framed these steps as efforts to foster innovation while ensuring market stability.

Crypto.com stated that the expansion follows its 2024 establishment of a North American headquarters in Tyler, Texas, reflecting broader industry efforts to align with evolving policy frameworks. The D.C. office aims to streamline collaboration with federal stakeholders, particularly as lawmakers debate crypto-specific legislation.

As regulatory clarity emerges, Crypto.com joins a growing cohort of firms prioritizing direct government dialogue to navigate the sector’s next phase. The company did not specify a timeline for the office’s opening.
