MYRIAD, the decentralized prediction market launched by Decrypt’s parent company DASTAN, launched on Abstract today, as the layer-2 blockchain’s mainnet went live.

Following the launch, MYRIAD is one of the main apps featured on Abstract’s portal for the Abstract Global Wallet (AGW), enabling users to quickly and seamlessly access the MYRIAD prediction market and quests.

MYRIAD’s “interconnected media ecosystem” integrates on-chain prediction markets and new forms of reader engagement alongside the user’s browsing experience.

Abstract, a ZK-rollup and layer-2 blockchain built on the Ethereum network, aims to become the leading blockchain for “consumer crypto” products and applications. Its developers Igloo, Inc. have already brought crypto to the masses through the Pudgy Penguins NFT collection, whose products grace the shelves of stores including Walmart and Target.

With Abstract, Igloo, Inc. is looking to provide the infrastructure for “blockchain-powered applications that serve billions of people in their everyday lives for personal use,” said the firm’s founder Luca Netz in a recent blog post.

To that end, Abstract leverages zero-knowledge (ZK) technologies for scaling and securely verifying transactions, while its Abstract Global Wallet makes use of passkeys to streamline the process of signing in and performing on-chain transactions. Its Panoramic Governance design, meanwhile, is aimed at incentivizing alignment between developers and consumers on the blockchain.

With a burgeoning ecosystem including games, trading and social platforms, Abstract is aiming to become the home for crypto projects with mainstream crossover potential. “Abstract’s consumer chain infrastructure is the perfect platform for MYRIAD as it prepares to go beyond Web3 and reach the mass market,” said Hazan.
