Mastercard has announced the launch of a new crypto debit card in Europe through a partnership with Mercuryo. This innovative card allows users to spend over 40 different cryptocurrencies directly from their self-custodial wallets at more than 100 million merchants across the continent. Mercuryo, a European crypto payments infrastructure provider, aims to simplify the use of digital assets for everyday purchases by processing transactions in euros. Unlike the recently launched Metamask card, which is specifically designed for Metamask users and supports a limited number of cryptocurrencies, the Mercuryo card offers broader wallet compatibility and supports a wider range of digital currencies. This marks a significant step in integrating cryptocurrencies into traditional financial systems, making them more accessible and usable for everyday transactions.
