On August 22, 2024, the Babylon ecosystem reached an important milestone - the first phase of the mainnet was officially activated, initiating the staking of Bitcoin (BTC) on the Babylon network. For security reasons, the Babylon team initially set the staking limit to 1,000 BTC, with a maximum of 0.05 BTC per staking transaction. Secure Custody: Clients can deposit BTC into Cobo's secure custody environment and seamlessly complete staking through the BTC Staking API, enhancing asset security.
Pre-signing Optimization: Supports staking transaction pre-signing, allowing users to set multiple-tier gas fees in advance, preparing for high-concurrency and high fee fluctuation scenarios.
Efficient UTXO Management: By splitting UTXOs, the API optimized the transaction construction process, improving overall capital efficiency within Babylon's protocol limitations.
Batch Transaction Broadcasting: This feature performed exceptionally well in handling a large number of concurrent requests. At the moment of mainnet activation, the system was able to simultaneously and orderly process all clients' staking requests, ensuring that transactions could quickly and smoothly enter the Bitcoin network.
Full Lifecycle Support: The API supports subsequent unbinding operations, providing users with complete staking and unstaking capabilities to meet the full lifecycle asset management needs.
