1. What is Degen on the Base chain?

I have previously written an article specifically introducing Degen on the Base chain. It was originally just a MEME coin on the Base chain, but later, more and more applications on Farcaster started using it as a consumption token, and there is a team dedicated to developing a third-layer network based on the Base chain for the native token using Degen.

Degen may not necessarily have the highest increase in value among MEME coins on the Base chain, nor is it necessarily the most popular MEME coin on the Base chain right now, but it is probably the most widely used MEME coin on the Base chain.

2. How about SSV?

I have discussed this coin in previous articles, and it can also be considered as part of the staking category of projects.

The business models of staking projects are very clear, and the risk-return is relatively easy to analyze. It is also relatively easy to see where the ceiling of the project lies.

The valuation of tokens for such projects, or whether it exceeds the reasonable range of the project, can be easily estimated. Once the price of such projects becomes too unreasonable, it is easy for them to be cashed out and cause a price crash, so the price increase of the token is easy to hit the ceiling.

For such projects, apart from the brief speculation that may cause the price to soar, once the hype is over, the trend of their tokens is most likely to be steady, perhaps slightly better than Bitcoin and Ethereum, or perhaps not even as good.

Therefore, such tokens are more in line with the taste of large institutions and are suitable for large capital participation, but of limited significance to retail investors.

For staking projects that I am involved in, such as EigenLayer and Ether.Fi, I also hold this view. If it weren't for the opportunity to profit from these projects, I probably wouldn't pay much attention to them.

3. This round of DeFi performance is very poor, is there still a chance for UNI, SUSHI, CRV, and the like to break their previous highs?

In this round of trends, the tokens of classic DeFi projects are indeed very disappointing, but some newer projects such as Pendle are still performing well.

However, overall, I still believe that the prices of DeFi project tokens have been suppressed.

DeFi projects are the only subdivision in all current fields that can achieve positive revenue. However, due to regulatory obstacles, it is difficult for the revenue of these projects to be openly empowered to the tokens, so the price of their tokens is severely restricted.

If this issue is not resolved, the upward potential of the entire DeFi ecosystem's tokens is probably limited.

As for whether they can break their previous highs in the upcoming bull market, I can't guess.

4. There are too many documents that need to be stored for more than 20 years in fields such as judiciary, finance, contracts, and archives. How much development space is there for decentralized storage in these areas?

I believe that decentralized storage (especially permanent storage) has great potential. However, whether the materials mentioned in this issue, such as those in the judiciary, finance, contracts, etc., can be used in current permanent storage (such as Arweave), is definitely technically feasible, but at the current stage, the main obstacles to use are probably cost and operational barriers.

I believe that when the cost and usage barriers of similar applications are low enough in the future, this application will definitely explode.

5. Will PEPE become the next Dogecoin or Shiba Inu coin?

I think the possibility of PEPE becoming the next Shiba Inu coin is unlikely because it lacks a strong team to build its ecosystem. Whether it can become like Dogecoin depends on whether there is someone like Elon Musk who keeps paying attention to it.

Without these conditions, PEPE is probably just a project that rides the trend: it surges when everyone remembers it and is forgotten when everyone forgets about it.
