Following Maestro, Unibot, and Banana Gun, Telegram Bot has added a new member, Alfred, becoming a small hot topic in recent days.

According to the official documentation, Alfred's founder is Stephane Gosselin, co-founder of Flashbots. Stephane Gosselin and Phil Daian founded Flashbots in 2020. In recent days, many communities and KOLs have been spreading the news about Alfred, referring to Stephane Gosselin as the "father of MEV," a claim that BlockBeats found somewhat exaggerated.

The concept of Miner Extractable Value (MEV) was first proposed by Phil Daian in a paper titled "Flash Boys 2.0." While the title "father of MEV" may be a bit exaggerated, Flashbots co-founder Stephane Gosselin has indeed made contributions in the MEV field, making him a veteran in the MEV space.

Currently, Ethereum implements PBS through MEV-Boost, provided by Flashbots, which allows randomly selected block proposers to auction the right to create the most profitable block to the highest bidder. So far, PBS has achieved the widespread distribution of MEV rewards by only involving stakers without the need for complex MEV strategies. However, other parts of the MEV supply chain still carry risks of centralization and censorship.

However, at the end of 2022, according to BlockBeats news, Stephane Gosselin resigned due to a disagreement with the team over his desire for validators to support uncensored relays. At the time, Gosselin stated in a declaration that maintaining resistance to censorship is crucial for a diverse and competitive MEV ecosystem. "In the short term, I hope validators can avoid connecting to relays that enforce censorship. Pressure from block space providers to enforce censorship will help avoid over-enforcement of censorship."

Alfred: Sniper Bot for Resolving Sandwich Attacks on New Coin Trades

The previous sniper bot for new coin trades, Banana Gun, quickly surpassed Unibot and even approached Maestro in terms of daily active users shortly after its launch, proving that sniper trading is a real demand for users.

However, Alfred clearly has a better understanding of MEV research. According to Alfred, users encounter significant friction when accessing crypto and DeFi through traditional methods:

First, using wallets often involves downloading rough wallet applications or confusing browser extensions. Second, setting up trades is a complex and overwhelming experience, requiring the selection of a DEX or frontend, understanding how to set slippage, basic fees, and priority fees, among other things. Additionally, for ordinary users, functions beyond "I want to swap token A for token B" are reserved for highly complex participants, such as sniper trading for new token releases.

Most importantly, the crypto mempool is a dark forest, where ordinary users often get rekt by front-running, sandwiching, or simply poor execution on their orders.

According to the official documentation, Alfred is a fast and secure trading bot directly integrated into Telegram. With just a few clicks to add the bot to Telegram, users will have an easy-to-use crypto wallet and a full set of advanced trading tools directly in the Telegram app interface. Alfred will serve as users' trading steward, helping with holding, buying, selling, and sniper trading tokens with just a few clicks. All user transactions will be completely private and protected from sandwich bots and frontrunners, ensuring the best execution for users in trading.

Currently, Alfred (AlfredTradesBot) only appears in the form of a Telegram bot, allowing users to buy, sell, and sniper tokens directly from their Telegram accounts on Ethereum. However, in the future, Alfred will serve as the gateway and platform for all DeFi and crypto activities.

How Alfred's Sniper Function Works

When you want to sniper an upcoming token release, you can set up the sniper function in the Alfred bot. You can only set up sniping for tokens/pools that have not been activated yet. If you want to buy an existing token, simply click the Buy function instead of sniping.

Then, Alfred monitors the pending target transactions in the blockchain mempool. A valid target transaction is one where a buy transaction directly executed after the target transaction would be valid (not reverted). Common target transactions include: Pool_creation/liquidity_add and Trading is un-paused.

When Alfred sees a valid target transaction in the mempool, it creates a bundle containing your sniper transaction directly after the target transaction and attempts to submit the bundle to the chain. If multiple Alfred users attempt to sniper the same token, it bundles all the snipes together and sorts them by bribe amount. In other words, those willing to bribe more will buy first.

How to Use Alfred

1. Create a Wallet

Similar to other Telegram bots, add Alfred to Telegram using the link, then click Start to set up your wallet and trading account.

After adding the Alfred bot to your Telegram account, you will immediately generate your wallet. The next step is to deposit some Ethereum to fund your wallet.

Due to the Ethereum blockchain's mechanism, your wallet needs some Ethereum (ETH) to pay for gas fees when transacting. Send some Ethereum to the wallet address you generated to fund your wallet. If you want to sell or trade other ERC20 tokens, you should also send them to this address.

2. Send ETH and Tokens

To send ETH or tokens from your Alfred wallet, click Wallet > Send; specify the currency (token or ETH) and the amount you want to send, enter the target wallet address, and then click Press to continue.

3. Set up Sniping

Click "Swap," then click "Sniper" and "Create a new snipe," and enter the contract address of the token you want to sniper. Next, you need to configure your snipe. Enter the amount of ETH you want to use for the purchase, input a bribe (the higher the bribe, the greater the likelihood of being the first to land), and choose to land on Block 0 or on the next block to purchase Block +2. Then click "Press to create a new snipe" to complete the creation. Once a valid target transaction is confirmed, the sniper will attempt to execute, and you will receive a notification of success or failure directly in Telegram. You can edit the amount or cancel the sniper by clicking "Swap >."

Alfred's Loyalty Points

Alfred's loyalty points are obtained through various interactions with the Alfred Bot. The more points you accumulate, the more transaction fees you save. In the future, additional benefits and rewards will be provided through the loyalty points program. All users start at the Chef level and increase to higher levels as they earn more points. Ways to earn loyalty points: 1. First-time users will receive "onboarding rewards": First deposit: 500 points; First trade: 750 points; First sniper trade: 1,500 points. Completing all first-time rewards will guarantee a total of 2,750 points to be promoted to the Steward level. 2. Tied to trade amounts: $1 = 1 Point; $50 trade = 5 points, $1000 trade = 100 points. 3. Consecutive usage multiplier: Earn a points multiplier for consecutive days of using Alfred; for each day of consecutive use, the points will increase by 0.05 times, up to a maximum increase of 1.5 times after 10 days; if a day is missed, the multiplier will revert to the previous day's multiplier. 4. Referral rewards: For each referred user, the user will receive 25% of the points earned by the referred user, with no limit on the points that can be earned through the referral system.
