AI summarizes in 5 seconds.

“First Release on the Entire Internet” One-Click Link Android to WeChat Clawbot! Even without the qualification for gray release, you can use it. Here’s the tutorial for one-click access to WeChat Clawbot!

Author: Why is Tencent so aggressive this time?

Let’s briefly talk about my initial experience of practical testing.

From the underlying logic, there is no essential difference between this and the usual integration of AI into apps like Feishu and DingTalk.

However, in terms of product positioning, Tencent is extremely aggressive this time:

Unlike the QClaw and WorkBuddy hidden in customer messages before, this time they directly placed personal AI into the first-level chat interface of WeChat, fully showing their cards.

Of course, the current shortcomings are also very obvious:

It cannot be used completely freely like a real WeChat friend. For example, it cannot be added to group chats and cannot help you reply to messages from other WeChat friends; it can currently only serve as a private little assistant answering its own questions, with its openness being a bit lacking.

If the experience is still not perfect, why did Tencent move so fast and aggressively this time?

There is no doubt that this launch of the “Lobster” plugin by WeChat will definitely push the installation of Lobster to new heights.

This should be viewed through four dimensions of thought from Long Ge:

First, seizing the entry point

The competition for the entry point of AI Agents has reached a fever pitch.

Every big player is trying to make AI assistants the default entry point for users’ daily lives.

What is Tencent's biggest card?

It is WeChat's 1.2 billion monthly active users, covering almost all social, payment, and work scenarios for Chinese people.

If the battlefield for AI ultimately boils down to “who is closest to the user,” WeChat is the naturally closest position.

Integrating OpenClaw into WeChat essentially turns everyone’s WeChat in their pockets into the front-end of their AI assistants.

No need to install a new app, no need to learn new interactions, just open the chat.

Second, creating the Agent ecosystem

The WeChat ecosystem includes public accounts, mini-programs, corporate WeChat, payments, and video numbers, but these capabilities have always been relatively fragmented.

An AI Agent that can invoke tools, read and write documents, and search for information is just the right carrier to connect them all.

Today, even if it can only chat one-on-one privately, if in the future it opens group chat permissions, then it could potentially manage mini-program stores for you, write public accounts, and take meeting minutes in group chats, becoming an all-around housekeeper.

WeChat evolving from a “communication tool” to an “AI operating system” holds immense imaginative space.

Third, pressure from competitors

ByteDance's cloud services and large models have already been rapidly deployed in Feishu, DingTalk has adopted Tongyi Qianwen, and even Telegram has a thriving bot ecosystem.

If WeChat doesn't act, users’ “AI dialogue habits” will form on other platforms, and once established, it will be difficult to reclaim.

Thus, it isn’t that Tencent wants to move quickly; it is that it must move quickly.

Fourth, empowering cloud business

This might be Tencent's most directly financial motivation.

Just think, when a large number of users run their AI Agents within WeChat, what do they need behind the scenes?

They need API calls for large models, servers to run OpenClaw instances, storage, and bandwidth.

Individual players can run it local with their lobster, but corporate users and developer teams will ultimately turn to cloud deployment.

Tencent Cloud’s GPU computing power, mixed large model APIs, cloud storage—these are all readily available.

Essentially, this is using the free WeChat entry point as the top of the funnel to attract massive users, then monetizing layer by layer through enterprise-level solutions.

ToC bringing ToB, social driving cloud computing, Pony’s positioning is truly brilliant.

To summarize:

Combining WeChat + AI Agent, if successful, would represent the prototype of the next generation super application.

Although there are still various restrictions now, being able to move local Agents directly into the first-level entry of a national-level application already represents a significant advancement!

And OpenClaw is merely the key to opening the door to a new world.

Behind the door lies the entire vast Tencent ecosystem.

For those without gray quotas, don’t wait, quickly open “Lobster” to copy the command and give it a try!
