Crypto wallet Phantom, which claims over 20 million users, said Friday that it has teamed with prediction market platform Kalshi to directly integrate its markets within the wallet app.
This integration will allow users to trade on trending topics in politics, crypto, sports, and culture directly within their existing Phantom wallet, with the app developer saying that it will make prediction market transactions as straightforward as token swaps.
Users can purchase tokenized positions referencing Kalshi's prediction markets using Solana tokens or Phantom’s CASH stablecoin, eliminating the need for separate deposits or new accounts. The platform provides real-time updates on prices, odds, and event developments, with notifications when markets settle.
A key feature is the social trading element, where each market includes live community chat for users to share insights and track sentiment as odds change. This complements Phantom's existing trading tools, creating a comprehensive platform for various financial activities.
"We built Phantom to make crypto feel intuitive for everyone, and now we are bringing that same simplicity to prediction markets," said Phantom CEO Brandon Millman, in a statement. "By integrating a layer of tokenized positions referencing Kalshi's regulated event markets with Phantom, users can trade what they care about in real time alongside the same community where they already explore DeFi, perps, stablecoins, and more."
Phantom’s integration continues a recent trend of platforms putting their prediction markets directly in wallets where users interact with their crypto holdings, not to mention on news and financial platforms, sports broadcasts, and beyond.
Recently, rival prediction market Polymarket announced an integration within MetaMask, the Ethereum-centric wallet from Consensys. And Myriad—a prediction market platform operated by Decrypt’s parent company, Dastan—is integrated within Trust Wallet. (Disclaimer: Consensys is one of 22 investors in an editorially independent Decrypt.)
Prediction markets are also being broadly integrated elsewhere, with media outlets like CNN and CNBC recently announcing tie-ups with Kalshi, while the UFC is working with Polymarket and the NHL granted a license to both platforms.
