On the afternoon of November 26, a level five fire broke out in Hong Kong's Tai Po Wang Fuk Court, quickly spiraling out of control, becoming one of the most severe fire incidents in Hong Kong in recent years, resulting in at least 75 fatalities and hundreds injured, with the scene being heart-wrenching.

Within hours of the disaster news breaking, the cryptocurrency industry sprang into action with astonishing speed. Multiple exchanges, institutions, and practitioners took the lead, expressing their commitment and responsibility towards Hong Kong through actual donations.

Among them, HashKey Group announced an emergency donation of 10 million Hong Kong dollars to support emergency relief and the resettlement of affected residents from the Tai Po fire. HashKey Group expressed its highest respect to the frontline rescue workers and will continue to monitor the situation, fully assisting affected compatriots through this difficult time, wishing for their safety.

According to an official announcement from Binance, Binance announced it will donate 10 million Hong Kong dollars to the fire-affected area of Tai Po Wang Fuk Court to support rescue and resident reconstruction efforts. Binance stated it will implement the donation through relevant channels and extend condolences to the affected residents.

KuCoin donated 2 million Hong Kong dollars through the Colleagues Fund to support projects for firefighters and their families (including children) related to the Hong Kong Fire Services Department, as well as related support work following the Tai Po fire. KuCoin expressed its highest respect to the firefighters and rescue workers on the front lines and conveyed deep concern for the affected residents.

Additionally, the local Hong Kong Web3 investment institution Avenir Group announced through its Avenir Foundation a donation of 10 million Hong Kong dollars for emergency relief, temporary resettlement of affected residents, and subsequent community recovery efforts following the Tai Po Wang Fuk Court fire. Avenir Group stated that Hong Kong is the foundation of the company, witnessing countless families' joys and sorrows, and this disaster has deeply saddened all employees, who wish to contribute their modest efforts to stand together with the people of Hong Kong.

Industry leaders such as BitMart founder Sheldon, Nano Labs founder Jack Kong, and ME Group CEO Jessica Young jointly donated the equivalent of 1 million Hong Kong dollars in cryptocurrency for emergency relief and assistance to affected families. The three initiators called on the global Web3 community to pay attention to this disaster and promised to provide additional support as needed based on the situation.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong Web3 company Animoca Brands, along with its Mocaverse and TOWER Ecosystem Fund, quickly initiated an on-chain donation pool, accepting donations from EVM chains and Solana chains. All funds will be 100% converted to Hong Kong dollars and handed over to the Hong Kong Red Cross for post-fire relief and long-term support for affected families. As of now, the donation pool has received hundreds of donations from the global crypto community, showcasing the efficiency and warmth of the Web3 industry.

MicroBit (Xiao Fei Asset Management Co., Ltd.) also announced a donation of 100,000 USD (approximately 780,000 HKD) to the Hong Kong Youth Student Power Fund, specifically to support the youth and their families affected by the fire.

TRON founder Justin Sun also announced on his personal social media that he will provide assistance to the residents affected by the Tai Po fire through the Justin Sun Public Welfare Foundation.

A merciless fire has burned the hearts of all Hong Kong citizens, yet it has also ignited the cryptocurrency industry's most fervent sense of responsibility and love for this land.
