Dappradar, the Web3 data platform known for tracking decentralized applications (dapps) across dozens of blockchains, announced it is shutting down after seven years of operation. Founded in 2018, Dappradar emerged during the early days of dapps, inspired by the first wave of blockchain experimentation.

The team shared a note on X and said the platform became “financially unsustainable,” forcing the decision to wind down operations despite attempts to find alternatives. The founders emphasized that the platform’s scale and infrastructure demands could no longer be maintained in the current market environment.

Over the years, Dappradar grew into a widely referenced analytics destination for decentralized applications. The service monitored more than 12,000 dapps across over 50 blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, and Avalanche. The shutdown announcement notes that Dappradar data became a staple for developers, journalists, researchers, and users tracking decentralized finance (DeFi), GameFi, NFTs, and broader blockchain activity.

The company said it will begin winding down immediately. This includes stopping the tracking of blockchains and decentralized applications, as well as gradually shutting down associated services. The team noted that communication about the DAO and the RADAR token will be handled separately, with further updates expected through community channels.

While the wider crypto market spent Monday sinking into the red — with BTC slipping under $93,000 and tagging a $92,368 low on Bitstamp at 1:15 p.m. Eastern time — Dappradar’s RADAR token took an even sharper hit, tumbling more than 32% on the heels of the announcement. RADAR drifted down from its daily high of $0.00101265 to $0.0006884 per unit at the time of writing.

Meanwhile, Dappradar’s farewell message highlighted its role in helping millions of users explore and understand decentralized applications during both bull and bear markets. The founders reiterated that while the platform is closing, the need for accessible Web3 analytics remains. They expressed hope that another organization will step in to continue providing discovery tools for the sector.

Platforms cut from a similar cloth as Dapprader include Defillama, Token Terminal, Artemis Terminal, and Dune Analytics. As the shutdown process begins, Dappradar thanked its users, partners, developers, and supporters for their engagement over the past seven years. The founders said they leave with confidence that the platform contributed positively to the development of decentralized applications and Web3 adoption.
