President Donald Trump and his business partners appear to be launching their own crypto wallet, one linked to his Solana-based meme coin and rolled out in partnership with major NFT marketplace Magic Eden.
A site where users can sign up for a waitlist to gain access to the wallet launched Tuesday. A Magic Eden spokesperson confirmed both the legitimacy of the site and the company’s partnership with Trump’s business partners to Decrypt. The site was first spotted by independent journalist Molly White.
After this story’s initial publication, Magic Eden posted an announcement for the partnership on X. The official GetTrumpMemes account for the meme coin also retweeted the announcement.
While tied to an officially licensed Trump token and featuring the same branding, President Trump's sons—Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump, and Barron Trump—may not have expected the launch. They separately posted on X that they are not involved with the meme coin-related wallet.
"To be clear, our family has zero involvement with this wallet," Barron wrote in his first X post.
Donald Trump Jr.'s post appeared to distance the product from a wallet being developed by his own World Liberty Financial project, which Donald, Barron, and Eric are also involved in.
"The Trump Organization has zero involvement with this wallet product," he wrote. "Eric Trump and I know nothing about it. Stay tuned—World Liberty Financial, which we have been working tirelessly on, will be launching our official wallet soon."
The Trump Wallet's chief value proposition appears to currently be offering those who sign up for it a chance at winning rewards related to the Trump meme coin. The site promises users a chance at winning some piece of a giveaway collectively worth 1 million TRUMP tokens, an amount worth $11.6 million at writing.
According to the site’s terms and conditions, this sweepstakes begins today and will last until July 4. Then, on Independence Day, all entrants who referred at least one other user to sign up for the Trump wallet will be entered into a raffle; a single winner, chosen at random, will win $100,000 worth of the TRUMP token.
Crypto users who refer others to join the Trump wallet waitlist are granted access to so-called TRUMP Boxes, which offer progressively greater odds at winning TRUMP prizes. Users who refer 100 people to sign up, for example, will receive 100 referrals to win a Diamond TRUMP Box—which the site purports could contain as much as 200 TRUMP tokens (a sum worth $2,316 at writing).
The Trump wallet app is powered by Slingshot, a mobile crypto trading app that Magic Eden acquired in April, in a bid to expand the platform’s reach beyond the struggling NFT market.
“We have historically worked with the TRUMP project to support their prior NFT launches and are excited that we’re working on a much larger project now with Trump Wallet,” a Magic Eden spokesperson told Decrypt.
Magic Eden previously aided Trump in launching a Bitcoin Ordinals NFT collection in early 2024.
A spokesperson for longtime Trump business partner Bill Zanker, who is listed on documents for an LLC linked to the Trump meme coin, did not immediately respond to Decrypt’s request for comment on the development.
The president’s meme coin, launched earlier this year, has attempted to maintain relevance by offering holders unique perks, such as a dinner for top holders with Trump himself held late last month. Today’s sweepstakes appears to be another similar initiative. TRUMP is up about 3% over the last day, rising following first word of the wallet.
