What Airdrops Has the SuiPlay Console Received?

SuiPlay0X1 is a Web3 gaming console developed in collaboration between Sui and Playtron (the developer of the handheld gaming operating system), supporting traditional platform games like Steam and Epic, and allowing for a one-click switch to Sui chain gaming mode. The pre-sale device is bound to the "Eternal" soul-bound NFT, which is divided into two tiers: "Mythic" (the first 1,700 pieces) and "Exalted." Holders of different tier NFTs enjoy airdrops and whitelist qualifications from multiple project parties.
The SuiPlay0X1 was launched for pre-sale in early September last year and officially sold out 10,000 units by the end of April this year. In May of this year, at the SuiBaseCamp 2025 held in Dubai, SuiPlay0X1 was officially showcased, and it was announced that shipments would begin this summer.
Ecological Airdrops
From the launch of the pre-sale to the final sell-out, there has been a continuous stream of ecological airdrop news driving the momentum. What ecological airdrops has SuiPlay received?
First, it should be noted that pre-purchase users of the console received the soul-bound "Eternal" NFT through the Sui address generated by their Playtron account, and the ecological airdrops were also received at that address. Playtron currently manages this address, and the community speculates that it may be transferred to users for self-custody after the devices are shipped.
I am one of the first 1,700 pre-purchasers and hold a "Myth" NFT. The Sui address has received the following tokens: including the Sui ecosystem Perp DEX Bluefin token BLUE, the lending protocol Scallop token SCA, Meme coin HIPPO, etc., with a total value of approximately $70.
In addition to the 8 certified tokens shown in the image above, SuiPlay NFT holders have also received over 40 unverified tokens (mostly Meme). Some token airdrops do not cover all NFT holders but are distributed randomly; for example, Sui Name Service randomly selected 500 holders of "Myth" NFTs to airdrop 1,000 NS tokens (currently valued at approximately $260).
At the same time, some token airdrops are issued in NFT form and require subsequent claims. For instance, I received an NFT that can be claimed for 113 Walrus tokens WAL, valued at over $70. A similar airdrop method was used by the entertainment project Double Up on Sui (token UP).
Additionally, some projects made early airdrop commitments, but the specific airdrops will wait until the project launches or the SuiPlay devices are shipped, such as Fud the Pug, one of the leading Meme coins in the Sui ecosystem.
G Dollar Stablecoin
On May 2, 2025, Sui, Playtron, and M0 (stablecoin infrastructure provider) foundation announced the launch of the programmable stablecoin G Dollar aimed at gaming scenarios during SuiBaseCamp. This coin is pegged to the US dollar and backed by US short-term treasury bonds, and can be used for consumption, subscriptions, and reward distribution within the console and other GameOS platforms; its programmable features support fee reductions, instant withdrawals, and new revenue models.
Why are Sui and Playtron creating a stablecoin? The official response includes three aspects:
Innovative Economic Model: Programmable stablecoins and on-chain reward mechanisms empower developers to innovate revenue sources and facilitate asset flow both in and out of games.
Upgraded Player Incentives: By providing multi-layered incentives and direct airdrops, they aim to attract more players and Web2 game developers to the Sui ecosystem, boosting user growth.
Synergistic Ecological Effects: Joint airdrops from multiple projects and G Dollar wallet compatibility strategies help integrate on-chain games with cross-platform interactions, further enhancing Sui's competitiveness as a gaming base chain.
Direct participation in the ecological stablecoin issuance demonstrates Sui's strong commitment to the gaming sector.
PLAY Token?
There are rumors that Playtron is planning to issue a PLAY token, which may be additionally airdropped to console users. Comparatively, this is akin to Solana's Saga phone issuing a token separately, which has no precedent in the industry.
However, Playtron has not yet disclosed detailed issuance plans or token economic models, only "sparking imagination" on social media. If the PLAY token is ultimately confirmed, it may further activate ecological economic gameplay and enhance user engagement.
Conclusion
SuiPlay0X1 combines soul-bound NFTs with multi-project airdrop strategies, replicating the "wealth effect" path of the Solana Saga phone, while also introducing minor innovations in NFT tiering; the launch of G Dollar addresses the pain points of game asset settlement. Overall, SuiPlay's "clever moves" are advancing simultaneously in hardware, tokens, and stablecoins, providing early users with benefits and building a more comprehensive economic and financial foundation for the Sui gaming ecosystem. The subsequent execution results are expected to further test its sustainability and attractiveness.
