If you were given the opportunity to invest in a game, would a universe-themed MMORPG created by the founders of World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, Diablo III, and Hearthstone make your heart skip a beat? This article shares the experiences of the Snapfingers guild during the alpha3 testing phase, with hopes of getting everyone excited for the future.

Introduction to Space Nation

As a Web3 MMORPG game, Space Nation features high-quality graphics and places gameplay at its core, integrating Web3 features to ensure that the value of time and effort invested by players is preserved. Players will take on the roles of pilots and captains, embarking on a journey through the stars. The configuration of multiple roles will allow future guild gameplay to accommodate a wider variety of players.

Game Map

Pressing M allows players to view the world map. During the testing phase, only the OIKOS galaxy is open. It is believed that as the game develops further, there will be a richer selection of maps for players to choose from, with more resources and hidden benefits waiting to be explored.

The current open maps in OIKOS include Titan Port (base), Big Mine (mining), and Haunted Land (pirates).

Spaceships and Weapon Equipment

At the current stage, there are over ten spaceship options, categorized as combat ships, mining ships, and exploration ships, each with different characteristics, attack power, and handling.

Current Spaceship Selection

Spaceship Types

  • T0: The Grey Fox spaceship is rarely used, as it can carry few weapons and has been replaced by T1.
  • T1: The Executor spaceship has the most balanced stats, can carry three weapons, and boasts impressive speed, agility, and attack power. It has an advantage when interacting with resource acquisition.
  • T2: The Seathead Whale spaceship has greater power compared to T1, but has very poor maneuverability, making it a disadvantage for resource acquisition.
  • T3: The Farsel spaceship is widely used due to its ability to carry four weapons. Although it is the heaviest and slowest, its maneuverability relies on the turret rather than the ship itself, which greatly increases its flexibility. It also has the widest attack range and can carry exclusive high-power weapons.

  • Mining Ship: Currently, there is only one equipped with a laser cutter that can cause high damage to ores. The quality of mined items is divided into common, uncommon, special, and lucky players may even obtain Lumicore.
  • Exploration Ship: Not yet available at this stage, but will gradually be introduced in future developments.

Weapon Types

  • Quality: There are three weapon qualities: white (normal), green (uncommon), and blue (special). Blue quality generally has higher damage and lighter weight compared to other qualities.
  • Configuration: Weapon selection can be based on personal needs and the number of weapons the spaceship can carry. There are defensive shields, instant high-damage lasers, missile launchers, railguns, and more. Weapon selection also needs to consider whether it meets the energy requirements, as higher attack power often requires more energy. If it exceeds the energy provided by the equipment, it cannot be carried.

Weapon Acquisition Channels

Weapons can be obtained through main quests and dropped by pirates. At the current stage, most special weapons are obtained by defeating pirates.

Gameplay

Main and Side Quests

The game currently offers a limited number of main and side quests, but they are rich in content. Most quests focus on eliminating pirates and mining, aiming to familiarize players with the game mechanics. The rewards are generous, including medical robots and weapon equipment. Completing main quests also rewards 5 Lumicores worth a total of 50 ORBs for lottery draws.

Pirate Hunting

In the Haunted Land, players have a chance to obtain rewards by defeating pirates. When close enough, the "C Interaction" prompt appears in the lower right corner of the interface. Holding down C allows players to collect dropped rewards, including weapon equipment, medical robots, and Lumicore. However, items obtained may be picked up by others (it is recommended to switch to a T1 with high agility or a T3 with instant burst killing ability).

Mining

Mining requires a mining ship equipped with a cutter or a high-burst T3 to cause high damage to ores in order to have a chance to obtain dropped items. Mined items include common, uncommon, and special ores.

PVP

The current PVP modes are 5v5, 10v10, and 20v20, selectable in Titan Port by pressing Ctrl. There are currently no dropped rewards, only kill rankings. However, there are many areas for improvement in PVP, such as: 1. Mid-game ship switching is not allowed, so if a wrong ship is chosen, players have to wait for the game to end in despair; 2. Unbalanced combat power in battles (all T3 with high burst damage causing full T3 teams); 3. If players are not fully matched, they cannot exit or operate, and can only wait for other players to join.
