[Galaxy: Crypto VC Investment Total Rebounds to $5.6 Billion in Q2, Up 31% QoQ]
The latest report from Galaxy Research shows that after a slowdown in the first quarter, cryptocurrency venture capital activity rebounded in the second quarter of 2026. Venture capital firms invested approximately $5.6 billion into unlisted cryptocurrency and blockchain-related companies across 384 deals. Total investment increased by 31% quarter-over-quarter, with the number of deals rising by 10%. The growth in funding was primarily driven by late-stage financing. However, raising new funds remains challenging, with only 5 new cryptocurrency venture capital funds raising approximately $3.9 billion in the second quarter, marking the lowest number of newly established funds in a quarter since Q4 2019.
