[Sources: Trump and Iran at odds over uranium enrichment timeline and frozen funds issue] According to a report by Jinse Finance on June 6, citing AXIOS, last week, Whitaker and Kushner reached an agreement with Iran on a 60-day memorandum of understanding. The agreement includes extending the ceasefire, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, allowing Iran to sell oil, and negotiating restrictions on Iran's enriched uranium stockpile and future enrichment activities. Trump requested two amendments to the text, while Iran stated it would propose its own revisions. The U.S. is awaiting Iran's formal response, and sources indicate that the differences between the two sides are relatively minor. According to two informed sources, Trump demanded that Tehran agree to include a 60-day deadline in any final agreement to complete the dilution of Iran's enriched uranium. However, Iran hopes to extend this deadline to 90 days. Additionally, there are disagreements over the amount and timing of the release of Iran's frozen assets. A U.S. official stated that the U.S. has committed to releasing funds after a final agreement is reached and concrete implementation measures are taken, while Iran hopes for a partial release of funds immediately. If the negotiations move into a second phase, a (nuclear) expert team meeting with Whitaker and Kushner will need to develop plans, including how to handle Iran's nuclear materials, further restrict its uranium enrichment program, and verify its compliance.
