[Data: Under Trump's Tariff Policies, U.S. Households to Lose an Average of $1,000 by 2025]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports, on February 12, according to Fortune, the latest research from the nonpartisan think tank Tax Foundation shows that the Trump administration's tariff policies are offsetting the economic benefits brought by its tax cuts. The study found that by 2025, the average tariff burden for U.S. households will be $1,000, and it is expected to increase to $1,300 by 2026, surpassing the average $1,000 tax refund from the tax cuts. Erica York, Vice President of the Tax Foundation, stated that tariffs are undermining the potential of the new tax law to provide relief to taxpayers and promote economic growth. The research predicts that between 2025 and 2034, tariffs will generate a net increase of $1.9 trillion in revenue, while tax cuts will result in a $4.1 trillion revenue reduction. The analysis pointed out that 96% of the tariff burden falls on U.S. importers and consumers, leading to higher prices and slower income growth.
