Panama allows government public institutions to accept cryptocurrency payments such as BTC and ETH

Odaily Planet Daily News: Mayor Mayer Mizrachi of Panama City, the capital of Panama, announced on X platform that the Panama City Council has voted to pass a proposal allowing government public institutions to accept cryptocurrency payments, including taxes, fines, tickets, and licensing fees. The first batch of supported currencies includes BTC, ETH, USDC, and USDT. This plan does not require new legislation, but instead collaborates with banks to convert encrypted payments into US dollars to meet the legal collection requirements of public institutions.
