Reuters survey: Federal Reserve may cut interest rates in at least six months

According to a Reuters survey, the energy shock caused by the war has exacerbated inflation, and the Federal Reserve needs to wait at least six months before cutting interest rates this year. A survey conducted from April 17th to 21st showed that 56 out of 103 economists predicted that the benchmark interest rate would remain in the range of 3.50% to 3.75% until the end of September, while nearly 70% of the survey in late March expected at least one rate cut at that time. In the latest survey, 71 economists expect to cut interest rates at least once this year, with a median estimate of one rate cut, in line with the Federal Reserve's dot matrix forecast. Nearly one-third of economists expect interest rates to remain unchanged this year, doubling the proportion from the previous survey.
