On August 5th, according to Bloomberg, the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is studying how to allow some registered futures trading platforms to list leveraged digital assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Caroline Pham, Acting Chairman of the CFTC, stated that "the CFTC can now adopt a clear and simple solution. She mentioned a column she published in March this year, suggesting that the institution could exercise its exemption and allow some companies to be exempt from current regulations that only allow futures trading platforms to list derivative products.
The CFTC has now solicited public opinions on the trading of cryptocurrency spot contracts listed on registered futures trading platforms, with a deadline of August 18th.
