Wow, Trump's biggest weakness right now might be two Chinese people!
Following the Democrats' landslide victory in the midterm elections, a storm of investigations targeting the Trump family is brewing.
I've looked at the areas the Democrats plan to focus their investigations on over the next two years, which roughly cover the following eight areas:
1. Trump family businesses: WLFI cryptocurrency, real estate, 1789 Capital investments, Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds.
2. Epstein case: Did the government intentionally conceal key evidence?
3. Immigration enforcement: ICE's violent enforcement, illegal arrests, and misuse of funds.
4. Department of Justice: Whether it used judicial power to target political opponents, and controversial presidential pardons.
5. Musk: Contracts and business dealings between his companies and the US government.
6. White House projects: Private donations to banquet halls, government projects, and mineral transactions.
7. Defense and military: The Iran war, military decision-making, and the Department of Defense's performance of its duties.
8. Medicine and insurance: Conflicts of interest in pharmaceutical companies, health insurance, and government drug pricing agreements.
The Democrats' current strategy is clear: investigate first, no rush to impeach. After all, impeachment and conviction require a two-thirds majority in the Senate, making it extremely difficult. However, congressional investigations can continue to subpoena witnesses, request documents, and hold public hearings, which also prepares for the 2028 presidential election.
After much analysis, I've found that the easiest way to find a breakthrough is through the Trump family's cryptocurrency business.
Many other investigations are still in the evidence-gathering stage, while in the crypto world, there are already lawsuits, fundraising efforts, and formal requests for documents.
And the ones who might help the Democrats open this gap are Sun and his cousin.
Let's start with Sun:
In November 2024, Sun invested $30 million in the Trump family's WLFI project, later accumulating an investment of $75 million, and was once treated as a VIP.
In March 2026, the SEC lawsuit Sun previously faced was settled, with his company paying a $10 million fine, and the SEC dropping its charges against Sun personally.
Just over a month later, Sun completely broke ties with the Trump family!
It turns out that Sun's WLFI tokens had been frozen as early as September 2025, making them impossible to transfer or sell.
In April of this year, Sun directly sued WLFI in a US court, demanding the unfreezing of the tokens and the restoration of his asset disposal rights.
The climax occurred on November 3rd, the day of the US midterm elections.

Sun suddenly filed for sanctions against WLFI and its lawyers, accusing them of concealing the identity of their UAE shareholders in the lawsuit.
WLFI initially disclosed that its company was based in Florida, USA, but later amended its documents, acknowledging that the shareholding chain involved 22 members and the UAE, and challenged the jurisdiction of the US federal court on the grounds of involving foreign shareholders.
Another previously revealed transaction showed that an investment entity backed by UAE National Security Advisor Tahmun acquired approximately 49% of WLFI's equity for $500 million.
This is where things get serious.
Sun originally just wanted to get his own coins back, but now he's dragged the Trump family's equity relationship with Middle Eastern capital into the legal process.
If the lawsuit continues to involve shareholder identities, agreements, and related financial transactions, the Democrats will have another readily available lead when investigating the Trump family's overseas business interests.
Now, let's talk about the Trump family:
In 2023, Binance reached a $4.3 billion settlement with the US government over anti-money laundering and other violations. The Trump family pleaded guilty and served approximately four months in prison in 2024.
The situation took a dramatic turn in 2025.
In May, UAE investment firm MGX chose to use $2 billion worth of USD1 stablecoins issued by the Trump family's WLFI to complete its investment in Binance.
The commercial value of this transaction is very direct: the issuer of USD1 can earn interest income through stablecoin reserve assets. A $2 billion investment was a crucial business for the fledgling USD1.
On October 23rd of the same year, Trump officially pardoned his brother, Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, Middle Eastern capital was investing in Binance through USD1, and the Trump family's stablecoin business was benefiting, with Trump subsequently receiving a presidential pardon.
These events are all publicly documented, and the Democrats naturally questioned whether there was any improper exchange of benefits.
The trouble wasn't over yet.
In February 2026, Democratic Senator Blumenthal launched an investigation into Binance, questioning the platform's involvement in suspicious fund transfers of approximately $1.7 billion related to Iranian-affiliated entities and a Russian shadow fleet.
Binance explicitly denied the allegations of wrongdoing, but the Democrats linked the issue to Trump's pardon and the Trump family's crypto business.
Now, the most interesting thing has happened.
On November 5th, Blumenthal officially notified WLFI, Binance, and other institutions, requiring them to submit relevant materials by January 4th, 2027, or face further action. This creates two parallel lines of inquiry:
Sun is pursuing WLFI's equity and UAE capital in court.
The Democrats are investigating USD1's funding flows, Binance's compliance, and Trump's pardon in Congress.
Both lines ultimately point to the same question:
How much commercial benefit did the Trump family gain from these transactions, and is there any improper connection between these benefits and US government decisions?
PS: In conclusion, one has to admire Sun's political acumen. Sun only spent $10 million to influence the US, while Trump spent over $4 billion.
