After reading through the entire explanation and He Yi's (@heyibinance) response, I still want to say something fair: I think Binance's product design is flawless. The flaw is that He Yi personally covered this loss, which I think was completely unnecessary. I can understand that since the customer's mistaken transfer was small, I didn't want to discuss such a pointless issue. A better strategy might have been: "Thank you to this user for discovering the bug. We can't help you recover your money, but we're willing to offer it as a bug bounty, giving you an equal or slightly larger reward." If I really have to nitpick about the product, it's that no one would expect a user to be foolish enough to transfer money between three different apps under the same brand. Essentially, they are three different apps. Binance is a very successful brand in terms of user perception, managing to make users use all three apps as their primary platform. Another issue is that the public's perception of Binance is mostly Binance + US Binance. However, in the US, most people are likely to use Hood and Coinbase. Therefore, most people wouldn't trigger this situation. I've never heard of Binance Thailand, let alone know that someone would install two apps to transfer money between them. The reasonable course of action is for Binance to wait for the relevant regulatory procedures before processing the transaction. Otherwise, if Binance transfers funds on behalf of users without authorization, and the recipient discovers that their account has been increased by +xxx USDT and then decreased, how can they explain this? Furthermore, if Binance dares to transfer your money, how will you explain it to the regulators? The reasonable course of action is to report it to the police. This situation can be understood as a user mistakenly transferring RMB to the wrong account via Alipay. If the recipient refuses to refund, both parties need to negotiate. Because the User Agreement clearly stipulates this, and Binance is not at fault, who would expect you to mistakenly transfer funds from three apps with completely different names? In this era of demanding the most unreasonable demands, nobody wants to reason anymore.
