[Samsung Electronics to Become First South Korean Company with Cash Assets Exceeding 200 Trillion Won] According to Jinse Finance, industry data released Sunday indicates that driven by the AI chip supercycle, Samsung Electronics is poised to become the first South Korean company to surpass 200 trillion won (approximately US$146.6 billion) in cash assets. Data estimates suggest that the chip giant's cash and cash equivalents reached 214.8 trillion won as of the third quarter, an increase of 24.8 trillion won from 190 trillion won three months earlier. This figure is almost double the 108.5 trillion won expected at the end of the third quarter of 2025. As of the end of September, the company's total assets reached 791.8 trillion won, an increase of 32.4 trillion won from the previous quarter. Market observers estimate that Samsung's current cash reserves are sufficient to support the maximum payout of its major shareholder return plan announced in August. The chip giant has stated that it will allocate 90 trillion to 110 trillion won for shareholder returns in 2026. (Sina Finance)
