Netanyahu is likely to fall. The Israeli president has officially authorized Eisenkot to form a government within 28 days, with the possibility of extending the deadline by up to 14 days if necessary. Eisenkot has secured the support of parties in a total of 67 seats. A detail worth noting is that previous reports indicated the Netanyahu camp won 53 seats, but only 46 seats actually recommended Netanyahu, suggesting that some parties originally aligned with him with abandoned their support at the last minute. A check revealed that a representative of the Bible Jewish Union, a long-time ally of the Netanyahu camp, did not recommend Netanyahu to form a new government during a meeting with the president on the 5th. If the formation of a government proceeds smoothly, Netanyahu, who has served as prime minister for 20 years, should be stepping down. It's ironic that the US and Israel's strikes against Iran in February aimed to change the Iranian regime, but now the leaders of both countries are being replaced! (Trump, on the other hand, only lost control of Congress, but still retains executive power for two years of his presidency). If Netanyahu is removed from office, the situation in the Middle East might take a different turn without the interference of a maverick.
