[Square Expects to Complete Bitcoin Payment Deployment to Over 4 Million Merchants by November 10th] Odaily Planet Daily reports that Bitcoin News, published on the X platform, states that Jack Dorsey's Square is expected to complete a phased deployment of Bitcoin payments to its network of over 4 million merchants by November 10th. The deployment began on March 30th, and eligible US merchants will automatically enable Bitcoin payments without needing to apply. Customers can pay via the Lightning Network, with transactions settling within seconds; merchants will receive payments in USD by default, but can also choose to retain Bitcoin. Square will waive Bitcoin payment processing fees until December 31, 2026, after which a fixed 1% fee will be charged; merchants can also automatically convert up to 50% of their daily sales revenue into Bitcoin.
