Initial counts showed the Democratic candidate leading by 58 votes; however, during election verification, a missing ballot memory card was discovered. After being added to the system, the Republican candidate won by 262 votes, reversing the unofficial election results. The Georgia Secretary of State's office has launched an investigation to verify the compliance of the entire vote counting process.
