🚨 NEXT WEEK WILL CONFIRM THE FED'S DECEMBER RATE DECISION.
After a brutal last week, markets are heading into a week packed with inflation data, and Fed speeches
And with rate hike odds going up, any economic surprise could trigger major volatility.
Here's what to watch:
Monday, Nov 9:
U.S. markets reopen after a brutal week, with investors watching whether AI stocks further recover or the selling starts again.
Fed officials Goolsbee and Barkin are also scheduled to speak.
Tuesday, Nov 10:
U.S. CPI and Core CPI data at 8:30 AM ET.
Headline inflation is expected to rise 0.3% month over month.
A hotter reading could increase rate hike fears and trigger another selloff, while cooler inflation could help markets recover.
Wednesday, Nov 11:
Japan's PPI data is due, and a higher-than-expected inflation could increase pressure on the BOJ to raise rates, potentially triggering the yen carry trade unwind.
Thursday, Nov 12:
U.S. jobless claims, housing data, and 5 Fed officials will speak.
At that time, CPI would already be out, so what they say will impact the interest rate odds.
Friday, Nov 13:
U.S. PPI and Core PPI will be released at 8:30 AM ET, with the headline PPI expected to rise by 0.4% month over month.
More Fed speeches are also scheduled.
If both CPI and PPI come in hotter than expected, markets could start pricing in a confirmed rate hike for December, triggering an even bigger crash.
While a soft CPI and PPI print could bring rate hike odds down and result in a relief rally.
