Why were MEXC and HTX severely sanctioned by the US and EU? On November 6th, the US FinCEN signed a final order: directly removing MEXC from the US dollar clearing network and prohibiting all US financial institutions from processing any fund transfers involving it. The core accusations are extremely damaging: (1) Over the past five years, MEXC handled as much as $16 billion in illicit funds. (2) It helped Russia circumvent sanctions by $1.5 billion, involved $1 billion with Iran, and even implicated North Korea. (3) Until June of this year, it was still trading with sanctioned Russian exchanges. HTX was sanctioned by the UK and EU for the same reason: helping Russia circumvent sanctions. The UK accused it of transferring over $1.5 billion to Russia through related networks, and the EU directly added it to its sanctions list against Russia. The common thread in the sanctions against these two exchanges is clear: any exchange involved in transactions with Russia or related sanctions will be blocked by the US and EU. Looking further back, wasn't Binance also fined $4.3 billion by the US for its ineffective anti-money laundering measures and even allowing Iranian users to trade? Ultimately, this isn't about compliance and regulation; it's blatant financial bullying by Western countries! American hegemony and the EU's bullying sanctions are utterly disgusting! Since China's complete withdrawal from cryptocurrencies, and since cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin have been completely controlled and manipulated by Wall Street, the crypto world has completely changed. The original intention of decentralization has long since become a joke. MEXC, HTX, Huobi, Binance, hold on!
