🇺🇸 NEW: U.S. approvals for Nvidia H200 chip sales to China included two firms with vacant listed offices and ties to blacklisted companies, per NYT.
New Matrix and Maginfra were among roughly two dozen Chinese companies cleared to handle the chips. Their role was to assemble them into AI systems.
Reporters found New Matrix’s listed Beijing address vacant and linked its owners to U.S.-blacklisted Wise Road Capital.
Maginfra’s listed office was also empty. Findings confirm that the firm shares personnel and patents with blacklisted Chinese server maker Inspur.
The report adds scrutiny to Nvidia’s ties to China as House lawmakers seek a Nov 18 briefing from CEO Jensen Huang on his contacts with an alleged Chinese intelligence asset.
