[French Crypto Holder Sentenced to 30 Months in Prison for Shooting Away Kidnappers] Golden Finance reported on November 7th that, according to Bitcoin.com News, Ayman R., a 23-year-old man from the Vendée region of France, was sentenced to 30 months in prison on November 4th for shooting his kidnappers during a crypto kidnapping. The incident occurred on Halloween afternoon. He had previously been attacked once before, and fled to his father's residence to call the police. About 30 minutes later, the same group attempted to break in. As the kidnappers climbed the building, he fired a shot with a Glock pistol. The kidnappers left behind a mobile phone when they escaped. The deputy prosecutor stated that he was out of danger when he fired the shot and that it was an act of revenge rather than self-defense. The court also sentenced him to a 15-year ban on possessing firearms and a 5-year ban on entering the Vendée region. The man had previously been kidnapped in 2022 during a crypto kidnapping, escaping after being held in a safe in Nantes. He was convicted in 2025 for a similar incident. As of June this year, France had reported over 70 cases of violence against crypto holders.
