[US Justice Department and Cook Request Suspension of Removal Lawsuit Awaiting White House Hearing Next Month] Golden Finance reports that on November 7th, lawyers for the US Department of Justice and Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook requested a federal judge to continue suspending the legal dispute surrounding Trump's attempt to remove her from office, pending a White House hearing scheduled for next month. The Justice Department and Cook's legal team submitted a brief joint report to US District Judge Jia Cobb on Friday, stating that the court should suspend the upcoming deadlines, and they will brief the judge again in early January. This summer, the US Supreme Court ruled that Trump did not provide Cook with a proper opportunity to defend herself before his first attempt to remove her from office last year. The justices allowed Cook to remain in office temporarily and remanded the case to Cobb. In August of this year, Trump restarted his removal efforts.
