[Algorand Foundation Shelves Proposals to Remove ALGO Supply Cap, Staking Rewards Committed to Extend to January 2028] According to Foresight News, the Algorand Foundation tweeted that it will indefinitely suspend the "Project King Safety" roadmap. Previously discussed proposals, including removing the ALGO supply cap (providing incentives through inflation), enabling and capturing MEVs, and increasing minimum transaction fees, are no longer under consideration. However, the commitment to extend staking rewards to January 2028 remains unchanged. The Foundation stated that new usage-based fees, such as those for quantum account signature transactions after Falcon-1024, may still be introduced or adjusted. Furthermore, the Algorand Foundation will indefinitely suspend the xGov funding program starting December 6th, and on November 6th, it closed the Algorand forum (keeping a read-only archive), ended the company-run Ecosystem Advisory Committee (EAC), and terminated its sponsorship of the Algorand Technical Committee (ATC). The foundation stated that the new management will focus on building a sustainable and revenue-generating network model, with the next key step being to extend its post-quantum security capabilities to the broader Web3 and digital asset ecosystem for use by custodians, wallets, issuers, and other networks.
