Does the AI API you pay for really return the model you expect?
Many inference service providers outwardly use the same model ID, but secretly downgrade the model version, shorten the context window, and render tool calls ineffective, while the API still returns a 200 OK response. Ordinary developers are completely unaware.
Research monitoring 189 API endpoints revealed 37 undisclosed model changes on 29 endpoints within four months, while the response output appeared normal.
@miranetwork officially launches Sterling
The industry's first third-party verified AI inference service. It performs five checks on all service providers every two hours:
Model identity verification
Tool call availability
Parameter compliance
Silent fault detection
Declaration context length verification
Only requests are routed to verified service providers, and all service provider ratings are publicly available.
