[Microsoft Data Center Construction Site Stormed by Protesters; Joint Demonstrations Planned in Multiple European Countries] Golden Finance reports that on Friday, November 6th, over 100 protesters stormed a Microsoft (MSFT.O) data center construction site in Amsterdam. This is part of a coordinated protest planned across several European countries over the weekend. Amsterdam police stated in a statement that one person was arrested. Police said two groups of protesters entered the site separately, one from the back and the other by cutting through the gate. Police seized angle grinders, climbing equipment, and other items from the protesters en route to the demonstration. A Microsoft spokesperson stated, "We understand people have strong opinions about this project and respect their right to peacefully express their views. However, we do not condone any illegal or dangerous behavior." According to a list provided to Bloomberg by the protest organization Stop Dirty Data Centres, demonstrations are planned in Ireland, the UK, Poland, Denmark, and France. The organization stated that some actions will take the form of submitting petitions to legislators and setting up public signs, rather than directly protesting at the data center construction site.
