[Yan Junjie: From Open Source to AGI, Profitability Relies on Lowering Inference Costs] According to Jinse Finance, on November 6th, MiniMax founder, chairman, and CEO Yan Junjie gave his first interview on an English podcast, speaking with Lawrence Burns, investment manager at Scottish Mortgage. Yan stated that the company will adhere to open source principles until AGI is achieved. Open source expands the application scope and allows for lower-cost technical feedback; AGI should not belong to any single company, country, or organization. He stated that profitability will not rely on increasing model prices, but rather on technological innovation to lower inference costs. Lower costs will reduce customer usage prices and expand the scale of reinforcement learning and post-training. As of August, MiniMax's annualized recurring revenue exceeded $800 million, with enterprise business accounting for over 80% on an annualized basis. The company currently has M-series language models and H-series multimodal models, which it plans to integrate into a unified model.
