[Fei-Fei Li's World Labs Launches Frameboy: Explore AI-Generated Worlds in Real Time Like Playing a Handheld Game] Jinse Finance reported on November 6th that World Labs, founded by Fei-Fei Li, released Frameboy. Users can control the camera with a keyboard, moving freely in an AI-generated virtual world, much like playing a game. Where the camera turns, the cloud GPU generates corresponding new footage in real time, reaching up to 15 frames per second. Atlas, released in September, can already fill in missing spaces in a single image and supports precise control of camera position and movement path, generating 1440p videos up to one minute long. Frameboy uses a speed-optimized version of Atlas, transforming the process from pre-planning shots and waiting for video generation into a real-time, freely exploratory journey. Currently, the public version of Frameboy only allows exploration of officially provided preset scenes. Users who want to create virtual worlds using their own images need to use Viewfinder, which is still in closed beta testing. The entire system relies on high-performance GPUs in the cloud, and even with a maximum frame rate of 15 FPS, there is still some lag in actual use, and the operating cost is higher than that of local rendering.
